World Environment Day 2025 at Rama Ayurvedic Medical College

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, Rama Ayurvedic Medical College, organized a significant tree plantation drive under the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" & “Plastic Pollution Reduction”. This initiative was part of a nationwide campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor mothers and promote environmental conservation. The college's participation underscores its commitment to integrating Ayurvedic principles with sustainable practices. This initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and contribute to a greener campus. The pre-campaign for the World Environment Day program was successfully conducted at Rama Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital from 22nd May to 5th June 2025. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation, promote sustainable practices, and engage students, faculty, and staff in eco-friendly activities. The pre-campaign concluded on 5th June 2025, aligning with the global celebration of World Environment Day, marking a successful lead-up to the main event.

Event Highlights

Inaugural Address: Dr. Balram Mishra, Assistant Professor in the Department of Shalya Tantra, delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the significance of environmental conservation and its alignment with Ayurvedic principles.

Tree Plantation Ceremony: The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Guruprasad K., Principal of the college, who inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a sapling. Dr. Amarendra Pratap Singh, Deputy Medical Superintendent (In-charge), also participated in the ceremony, underscoring the institution's commitment to sustainability.

Active Participation: Faculty members, & staff, actively engaged in planting a variety of saplings across the college premises. The selected species were chosen for their ecological benefits and suitability to the local climate, aiming to enhance biodiversity and promote environmental health.

Taking the Oath:

            According to NCISM Guidelines, on this World Environment Day, we solemnly pledge to integrate the principles of environmental sustainability into our practices and policies. Recognizing the profound connection between nature and human health, we vow to promote traditional Indian systems of medicine in harmony with nature, utilizing natural resources responsibly and ethically.

“Therefore, we solemnly swear to:

I pledge to make all possible changes in my daily life to protect the environment. I also commit to continuously motivate my family, friends and others about the importance of environmentally friendly habits.

On this day and every day, we pledge to uphold the values of sustainability, reverence for nature, and holistic

well-being inherent in the Indian System of Medicine. Together, let us embark on a journey of healing, not only

for individuals but for the Earth itself.

National Plastic Pollution Reduction Campaign

In conjunction with the tree plantation drive, the college also participated in the National Plastic Pollution Reduction Campaign. This initiative focuses on eliminating single-use plastics and promoting eco-friendly alternatives. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav emphasized India's commitment to addressing plastic pollution and supporting global efforts to develop a legally binding international agreement on plastic waste.
